GES-2 House of Culture received LEED Gold certification!
LEED is a globally recognized building certification program that certifies the most sustainable building practices. To obtain a certificate, you must fulfill the mandatory requirements and score a certain number of points in different categories.
The GES-2 project was the first of the cultural institutions of the Russian Federation to receive one of the most prestigious environmental certificates LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Gold, which confirms the environmental friendliness of the design and construction methods used in the museum.
How does the House of Culture help to reduce the negative human impact on the environment?
– In GES-2 you can not only park your electric car, but also charge it;
- the building provides for the organization of rainwater collection and its purification for household needs;
– renewable energy sources: electric solar panels are installed on the roof of the building;
– 50% of waste during the construction of the building was recycled or disposed of;
– the existing frame and enclosing structures of the building have been preserved to save resources, preserve cultural heritage and reduce environmental impact;
– the use of locally produced materials reduced the level of environmental pollution during transportation;
– during the construction of the House of Culture, materials with low emissions of harmful substances were used.
We are proud that we took part in the implementation of such a large-scale project as the GES-2 House of Culture!
